Despite being ported to a plethora of devices on our forums, not everyone is a fan of the aftermarket ROM MIUI. Some think it has too much of a fruity feel, and yet others would rather have a more AOSP-like experience. However, some users who do not favor the ROM could potentially appreciate using the MIUI File Explorer and its aesthetically pleasing user interface.
XDA Forum Member apooonet has taken it upon himself to bring the file explorer to users of all ROMs, and has even added in additional functionality not found in the original version. In addition to being compatible with Ice Cream Sandwich, it even supports file management elevated permissions. Yeah, that’s right. It is a root-level file explorer—and it’s free!
The application requires Android 2.2 or greater, and root access if you intend on modifying system files. In a big dose of irony, it can even be installed on a MIUI ROM, offering the major advantage of root access. There are occasionally come compatibility issues on devices running CyanogenMod 7, but the developer assures us that he is working on it. Even on those ROMs, however, the app is still most likely worth a try. In the words of the developer:
Requires Android: 2.2 and upThose interested in giving it a go should visit the application thread.
this app completely works on cm9 and MIUI
But on the other roms like cm7, some of categories not support yet (working on that). but you can install it and use the other things.
